- 30-day defect & leak replacement — a leaking or damaged valve, a cylinder that will not hold pressure, or the wrong refrigerant or fill weight. Inspect within 72 hours of delivery.
Product details
One cylinder, 25 lb, is what a week of work orders usually looks like. A leak repair on a walk-in. A display case converted off R-404A. A reach-in the owner wants off a high-GWP blend. Restocking a single cylinder keeps the van ready for the calls you actually get, without capital sitting on a shelf. Top it up when it goes out — that is the whole inventory decision.
Classified A1 under ASHRAE: lower toxicity and no flame propagation in the standard test — not a licence to treat it as harmless in a confined space. The blend was formulated as a lower-GWP stand-in for the high-GWP HFCs that ran commercial refrigeration — supermarket racks at low and medium temperature, display cases, walk-ins, reach-ins, cold stores, ice machines, transport units. R-404A and R-507 are the usual starting points. Retrofit decisions still belong to the equipment manufacturer's guidance: confirm component and lubricant compatibility for the specific machine before the charge goes in.
Charge it as liquid, every time. Meter liquid into the low side through a restrictor with the compressor running, or weigh liquid into the high side with the system off. Vapour-charging a zeotropic blend fractionates it, and what circulates afterwards is no longer R-449A. Glide is real: set superheat and subcooling against dew and bubble points rather than one saturation figure, and expect to retune the expansion valve. Recover into dedicated cylinders — venting is illegal. Store the cylinder upright and secured, cap on and out of direct sun.
