About R-407C

R-407C was one of the earliest HFC answers to R-22 in comfort cooling, and it remains a practical retrofit for equipment that was designed around R-22 and is not ready for replacement. It is a blend with meaningful temperature glide, so charge it as a liquid and take superheat and subcooling from the R-407C pressure–temperature data rather than from the chart you know for R-22. Retrofits generally call for a polyolester lubricant, so check what is in the compressor before committing.
