- 30-day defect & leak replacement — a leaking or damaged valve, a cylinder that will not hold pressure, or the wrong refrigerant or fill weight. Inspect within 72 hours of delivery.
Product details
Most of this gas goes into plant commissioned on R-22 or R-502: supermarket racks, display cases, walk-in coolers and freezers, cold stores, beverage and ice machines. Direct-expansion commercial refrigeration, low and medium temperature. US production of R-22 has ended, so a retrofit blend is what keeps that installed equipment working. 25 lb is a one-hand weight, which makes it a van item rather than a store-room item.
Charge it as liquid. This is a mix rather than a single substance, and its components boil off at different rates, so draw vapour from the cylinder and what stays behind drifts off specification. Weigh liquid in through a metering device, or throttle it into the suction with the compressor running. After a leak, a full recovery and reweigh beats a vapour top-up.
Glide matters at the gauges. Take superheat and subcooling from the bubble and dew columns of a blend-specific pressure-temperature chart, not one saturation figure. Operating pressures sit modestly above R-22 at the same conditions, enough to notice when you read a chart from memory. Oil belongs to the system and the compressor rather than to the cylinder: most R-407A retrofits run polyolester, so confirm against the equipment data and the maker's guidance. Recover it, never vent.
