Warranty: 30-day defect & leak replacement — a leaking or damaged valve, a cylinder that will not hold pressure, or the wrong refrigerant or fill weight. Inspect within 72 hours of delivery.

Product details

R-438A — widely known by its MO99 trade name — is a blend built for retrofitting R-22 equipment with as little disruption as possible. Like the other mineral-oil-compatible replacements, its selling point is what you do not have to do: no compressor oil change, no flush, no component swap in the ordinary case.

It is a multi-component blend, which has consequences in service. Charge liquid, use the R-438A pressure–temperature chart rather than R-22's, and check the superheat after the changeover. A 25 lb cylinder is the standard service size for this work.
